In an exclusive interview, Razor told how the last-ditch surgery almost killed him – but saved him from the path of destruction he was on.

And he revealed: “The doctors said, ‘We got you just in time’.”

The life-or-death drama happened after the star was told he needed a pacemaker fitted. His health was in ruins after years of going on massive benders.

Razor admitted: “At my worst I was crazy – I was doing three or four bottles of wine a day, easy-peasy, plus spirits, beers, cocktails.”

But his ticker was beating so fast that medics first had to fire electric shocks through his chest to return it to a normal rhythm.

His heart stopped beating during the procedure – known as cardioversion – and Razor spent several seconds clinically dead.

The dad of four explained: “Before I could get my pacemaker I had to have my heart zapped to slow it down.

“They zap it seven times. If your heartbeat doesn’t return to normal after seven times, you’re in trouble.

“Mine came back the third time they did it – but it stopped and I was technically dead for several seconds.”
