The comedy legend, 60, was thrilled when he was offered a role as cheeky Terry Cant earlier this year.
And he thinks his dad Colin made it happen from beyond the grave.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: “My father, who passed away 20 years ago, was a big fan of Enders.
“I'm a big believer in fate and I'm convinced he was up there pulling the strings." Colin, who died in 1998, used to work on EastEnders in the soap's props department.
