A LORRY driver who hid over half a million euro worth of cocaine in a shipment of frozen potatoes has been jailed.

Bryan Hughes, 30, from Ballymena, Co Antrim, was driving an HGV when he was stopped in France last October.

He claimed to border force officials he was delivering the potatoes from the Netherlands to England. But when officers searched his cab, eight kilos of cocaine was found inside baggage and in a locker.
