Hard Work And Belief Crucial To Ogbene Success

Stephen Kenny finally chalked up the first competitive victory of his tenure at the 13th time of asking with a comfortable success in Azerbaijan.

The defeat of the Azeris- who drew 1-1 in Dublin last month registered the Boys In Green's first taste of a competitive result since Gibraltar were beaten 2-0 by Mick McCarthy's side in June, 2019 in Dublin.

Ogbene replaced Adam Idah in the 59th minute and capped a memorable competitive debut with his 90th minute headed goal from Josh Cullen's corner.

We have taken a lot of criticism on the way here and I feel like we deserve it, declared Ogbene (right, with Kenny).
