ONE quarter of bars and restaurants will not reopen fully tomorrow because of “red tape” rules for indoor dining, industry chiefs warned yesterday.

Restaurants Association of Ireland boss Adrian Cummins said he estimated that one in four members would stay shut rather than operate under the published guidelines.

His comments came as the Department of Health confirmed a further 1,345 cases of Covid-19 with 105 fighting the virus in hospital, 21 of those in ICU.

Failte Ireland published draft guidelines for indoor dining late on Friday night leaving traders with just two days to implement the comprehensive plans.
