21 medical staffers of Mumbai’s Jaslok Hospital found infected after isolation, 23 at Pune’s clinic also tested positive

Jaslok Hospital, earlier declared a containment zone, was in process to resume hospital services. But when it got 1,100 of its staff tested before resuming duty, 21 nurses tested positive for the coronavirus.

These nurses of Jaslok Hospital were in quarantine for 14 days at a nurse’s hostel. After their quarantine period was over they were tested for COVID-19 before resuming work. Hospital authorities said that these nurses were at a hostel, and did not come in contact with anyone at the hospital.

Before this, 31 staffers of Jaslok Hospital tested positive after a patient at the hospital was infected. In a statement on Sunday, Jaslok Hospital said, “Ever since the first case was tested positive, Jaslok quarantined the connected staffers at one of our hostels — Peregrine, near VT. BMC had announced this hostel as a containment zone.”
