The professional tennis tour has gone into hibernation till June 7, following a joint decision by the two bodies — ATP and WTA — which look after the men’s women’s players.
The two bodies have decided the world rankings will be frozen, which means whatever rankings players hold now cannot change till the tour restarts. Speaking to MAIL TODAY, Rohan Bopanna said this was an unique situation.
“It is the same situation for all and the uncertainty will continue. The way world sport has been hit by the Coronavirus we can pray and hope the situation improves. As a tennis professional, I cannot complain and have to accept whatever decisions have been taken,” said Bopanna, who has now taken a break and gone to Coorg.
