At least 11 people died after the boat they were in capsized during Ganpati Visarjan at Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal on Friday morning.
Six others have been rescued, officials said. A search and rescue operation is underway.
The police said the incident occurred at 4.30 on Friday morning when a boat carrying a group of 19 people for Ganesh immersion capsized at the Khatlapura Ghat.
“Six people have been rescued out of 19 and we have recovered 11 bodies till now. Two are still missing and a search operation is underway. We are trying to rescue other people as well,” Additional Director General of police DC Sagar said.
