As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) estimated the location of the LPA at 105 kilometers (km) east-northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar or 180 km east of Juban, Sorsogon.
PAGASA said the LPA is still less likely to intensify into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours but may bring rains over some areas as it moves close to the Northern SamarBicol region area.
The combined effects of the LPA and tail-end of frontal system, or the boundary between the cold northeast monsoon and warm easterly winds, may bring moderate to heavy rains over Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, and Kalinga on Wednesday. Cagayan and Isabela have yet to recover from the devastation brought about by the recent massive flooding in the two provinces.
