It’s been established many times that art, at least in the country, is very much alive. Among the institutions that safeguard and allow arts to flourish is the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). To affirm its mandate to make art matter to every Filipino, the government-run organization recently launched the CCP Encyclopedia of the Philippine Art (EPA) Digital Edition.
On Nov. 18, the CCP unveiled one of its flagship education projects bringing to the digital space the most comprehensive and authoritative sourcebook on Philippine art and culture. The event was done in the presence of the company’s officials, partners from the education sector, and the media.
The second print edition of the CCP Encyclopedia of Philippine Art was published in 2018. Early last year, during an interview with CCP vice president and artistic director Chris Millado and chairperson Margie Moran-Floirendo, the Manila Bulletin Lifestyle team learned of the exciting plans of CCP to go digital. Despite the pandemic, the institution has fulfilled its plans to innovate and go online with the current release of this year’s CCP EPA Digital Edition.
