Rockers Del Amitri have revealed a gig with the Red Hot Chili Peppers left them with a nasty surprise.

The group, whose new album Fatal Mistakes is out this week before they tour the U K in September, almost got landed with a lawsuit from the US band.

Dels singer Justin Currie said they were playing Woodstock 2 in 1994 when their van grazed the knee of one of Anthony Keidis’s band’s back-up singers.

He said: “Next thing we know we get a letter that says we’re being threatened with a $2million lawsuit for ‘aggressive assault’ or something like that. We ignored it, and it all went quiet after that.
