Harry and Meghan’s controversial remark “service is universal” was taken out of context, a close pal has claimed.

Dean Stott leapt to the defence of the Prince and his wife after they we reaccused of “horribly disrespecting” the Queen when they lost Royal patronages.

Stott, who lives near the pair in California, said yesterday: “They’re very much a modern couple and like to do things differently. So they see that they can still do a service but in their own way.
