Duo stole jewellery of NMMC official’s mother to pay off debts
The NRI Coastal police recently arrested a 50-year-old woman and her 17-year-old son for stealing the jewellery of the mother of assistant commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) after spiking her drink. The accused, Manju Sanjay Bhore and her son, had planned the burglary to pay off loans taken from people in Dharavi.
Befriended victim
The accused visited the victim, Sunanda Waghmare (75), a resident of Dattavilla building in Shahbaaz village, Belapur, between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on August 22. Ms. Bhore was a hawker who traded utensils for old clothes and was a regular visitor to Shahbaaz village.
