Couple beat virus by marrying at station

DETERMINED couple refused to let coronavirus ruin their wedding plans.

So as Britain headed into lockdown, Claire McShane and Matt Zinser leapt into emergency wedding action.

They scrapped their April ceremony with family and friends, and – in an echo of the wartime spirit from long ago – tied the knot at a railway station on Friday.

After saying their vows at London’s St Pancras in front of a council registrar and two witnesses, the couple obeyed protection rules and touched elbows before sharing a loving kiss.

Teacher Claire, 36, of Muswell Hill, told how she and her French husband had already been forced to change their plans as the virus spread and Matt’s folks faced lockdown.
