New Delhi: The 20-year-old woman who was abducted from her home, beaten up and sexually molested had been relentlessly harassed since November by the kin of a teenager who had allegedly killed himself when he found his love for her unrequited.
The younger sister of the victim said assailants had earlier threatened to torch the house of the woman’s in-laws in northeast Delhi, because of which she left to live in a rented accommodation with her husband and son. The woman had, in fact, filed a complaint on January 19 which the police were looking into.
On Wednesday, she was shamed and publicly paraded in Kasturba Nagar at a spot just 100 metres from a police booth. But the booth was unmanned with the police personnel engaged in Republic Day duties.
