New Delhi: Delhi Teachers’ University was inaugurated on Friday within two months of the Bill being passed in Vidhan Sabha. The students enrolled in the university will be spending 30-50% of their time in schools from the very first month itself. The university will also have a cell where representatives will visit schools and motivate students to opt for the teaching profession.
Deputy CM and education minister Manish Sisodia inaugurated the university at Outram Lines, Mukherjee Nagar in north Delhi. He stressed that the university was a dream project of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. Professor Dhananjay Joshi has been appointed as the vice-chancellor.
