Varanasi: The curtains came down on BJP’s election campaign on Saturday for the last phase of the UP assembly polls with PM Narendra Modi addressing a rally in Khajuri area, in Varanasi’s Sevapuri assembly constituency, where he lashed out at “pariwarwadis (dynasts)” for criticising projects undertaken in “national interest”. He said it was the first time in the past few decades that any government was seeking votes for its “good work, clean image, ensuring development without discrimination and improved law and order”.
Addressing a gathering in Khajuri, Modi claimed that people in the past six phases osf the UP polls have voted in the national interest and proincumbency was evident. “It is the last public meeting in this election at the same ground from where people had blown the bugle of victory in the country in 2014. And it is for the first time in the past many decades that pro-incumbency is evident as people are showing commitment to retain the BJPled government…,” he said.
