Calibration in Lightroom provides a set of controls that are often overlooked or completely ignored, but their wide scope for both colour correction and creative effects can be huge.

The seven sliders control specific colours in the image, while at the same time affecting all colours globally. Sounds confusing? Don't worry, Calibration is an incredibly easy-to-use tool and equally powerful too.

1 Process the image Process your RAW file, as usual, making sure that White Balance, Exposure, Contrast and any other settings are optimised to make the image look its best. The colour effects we'll apply will always look best when all other settings are correct because it allows you to focus on the desired effect.
