As Marie stepped inside Tianna’s studio in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter she was met with a warm welcome and equally warm temperatures. “Sorry about the heat, I keep it warm for the babies,” chuckled Tianna as she guided her apprentice through to the dressing room to meet their first two clients. Makeup artist Gabriele was applying the finishing touches to mum Cynthia’s makeup as baby Moana played with her dad, Chris. The infant turned to greet Marie with a beaming smile and everyone laughed: “At this age I don’t get them to sleep,” said Tianna, “we want to capture lots of expressions and their relationship with mum.”

Ex-midwife Tianna used to deliver babies, but nowadays she spends most of her time delivering bespoke maternity shoots for newborns and mums-to-be.
