Krampus is the antithesis of jolly old Saint Nick… According to legend, his purpose is to punish naughty children during the most wonderful time of the year. Tales of this terrifying horned and hoofed demon are told throughout various parts of central Europe; my photographs are from a small Alpine village in northeastern Italy called Rutte Piccolo.
