As a landscape photographer, I’m away about 10 months of the year on average. Exploring new places and re-visiting familiar places is one major aspect that drives me. Travelling is such an important part of my life and business, so last year was a real shock to the system, with most of my travels being from the front door to the post box! Most of my foreign workshops had to be postponed, but I was confident my autumn workshop in Scotland would go ahead. With restrictions changing by the day, even Scotland was in doubt. Everyone in our small group was already in Scotland when the restriction came in that no one could enter, so we could continue with the workshop travelling in separate cars, but there was always doubt if the hotels would remain open.
Scotch mist is synonymous like London fog; it’s famous for having it but, ironically, you seldom ever see much of it. Most people would consider it to be rain, but the Scots dismiss it as mist. On this occasion, however, we had some interesting encounters with actual mist.
