<div style="page-break-before:always; page-break-after:always"><p id="1"></p><p>For many years I was in and out of mental hospitals&mdash;a frequent flyer, because I didn&rsquo;t have insurance and couldn&rsquo;t ever stay long enough to get a proper diagnosis. That finally changed in 2005. I went to a hospital and was prescribed a medication that worked, and I was asked to lead a painting workshop at a community-based treatment center. I could use my arts background to help others.</p><div style="page-break-before:always; page-break-after:always"><p id="2">In 2011 I joined the Creative Vision Factory, in Wilmington, Delaware&mdash;a space for people who have struggled with mental health problems and addiction&mdash;to create and show art in our neighborhood. It&rsquo;s also a drop-in center for the local homeless population.</p><div style="page-break-before:always; page-break-after:always"><p id="2">The Creative Vision Factory has become a place where people thrive. Several of our members sell their art and win awards. We&rsquo;ve seen people find homes after battling addiction. In my current role, I talk to everyone who comes in and take their achievements and concerns to management so we can celebrate or make things better. I love my job&mdash;doing good for others does a lot of good for me. </p>
