Combine the tranquil silence of The Art of Living Bodh Gaya Ashram with the ethereal charm of its surrounding hotspots and get a taste of divine bliss!
Located in the village of Shekhawara, 9 kms away from the famous Bodh Gaya, the land where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment, the beautiful Ashram is spread over 13 acres of land. A cosy centre with an inviting appeal, you cannot miss the uncanny silence that abounds and attracts you the most.
THE REAL STORY
It all started in 2008 when a plot of land was located by Art of Living devotees. Gurudev perceived the place as an International ashram and work commenced thereafter for construction of the ashram. Nine years hence, the ashram has come up beautifully with 48 well-equipped deluxe rooms, 28 of which are air conditioned. While now the locality is an important part of the township, the ashram remains untouched by any development.
KNOW YOUR ASHRAM
The Ashram is also equipped with a meditation hall, yagyashala and a gaushala that provide healthy and nutritious milk with a number of “desi” cows.
Today, the Gurukul that started in 2015 has now grown to be full fledged learning centre, where children learn the Saam Veda and the Yajur Veda. The melodious chants resonate through every cell of your Being and take you deeper into meditation.
The kitchen of the Bodh Gaya Ashram is a heartwarming sight. With over 500 meals served at one time, the visitors enjoy the satvik food prepared mostly from organic vegetables grown in the ashram. What’s more, the tomatoes, ladies finger, broccoli and carrots are worth relishing.
