The heart wrenching visuals of forests burning — be it in South America, Africa or Australia, and along with it the burning of several species of animals for whom these forests were their home — give a loud clarion call to our conscience. Human impact has led to the loss of 40% of the world’s forests and every year 8.8 million hectare of forest is destroyed. At this perturbing rate it is projected that by 2110 all our forests will be lost. Can we just stand by and watch?
