Operation Overlord. The Longest Day. The Normandy Invasion. It was a day unlike any the world had ever known or will know again. Time has not dimmed the memories of June 6, 1944. The triumph of ‘The Longest Day’ and the deeds of those brave men are deeply etched in history. To celebrate D-Day, Enfield Sports has released a limited edition of 250 air pistols to commemorate this historical event. Each Gletcher Colt 1911 replica CO2 air pistol is laser-etched with the famous quote by Dwight Eisenhower: ‘Only our individual faith in freedom can keep us free’, and also has a set of dog tags with ‘Operation Overlord’ etched onto the slide. This pistol has been designed to emulate the military precision of the original Colt 1911, and I think they have done a mighty fine job of it.

The Operation Overlord Gletcher Colt 1911 is a single 12g CO2powered, .177 metal BB-firing air pistol, featuring a 17-shot magazine, blow-back action, and it has lever and pistol grip safety as on the real one. It is a full-metal replica – a collector’s piece.

As you would expect with a pistol of this quality, it’s an all-metal design with some weight to it, all 2lbs of it. Like most BB pistols, this one features a drop-out mag’ which is released by depressing a small button just behind the trigger guard.
