I watched in dismay the hoards heading to beauty spots and beaches just before movement restrictions were legally enforced, and realised that this historically unprecedented move might well be on the cards, and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. Lockdown is a situation caused by the selfish and selfrighteous minority, who have fought each other for toilet rolls and hand sanitiser, along with so many other household goods, that no doubt they intend to sell to others and profit from in a time of uncharted difficulty. Why else would a family of four require 20kg of pasta, eight litres of hand wash or 100 toilet rolls? On average, two should last a week, apparently, and there’s official guidance to prove it! It’s your mum, my mum, our brothers, sisters, friends or even ourselves if we are in the high risk category, who could be robbed by these people on Amazon or eBay. Then, with no shame, these morally bankrupt parasites tootle off to a beauty spot or beach, stopping to get petrol, coffee, an ice cream, use a public loo and spread Covid 19 between them and us like peanut butter on toast, or worse have an accident, diverting desperately stretched medical resources away from where they’re most needed.
