The Asia Cup 2022 will be played in the UAE from August 27 to September 11. Being the year of the T20 World Cup, the event will be played in the 20-overs format. India will kick-off their campaign by taking on arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai on August 28. Their second game will be against a qualifier at the same venue on August 31. Regular skipper Rohit Sharma will lead India in the Asia Cup. Rohit has been rested for the Zimbabwe series. The tournament will also mark the comeback of KL Rahul from injury and Virat Kohli from rest. Here are five records Team India can break during the Asia Cup.

1. ROHIT SHARMA IS ON THE VERGE OF COMPLETING 3500 T20I RUNS

Rohit is already the leading run-getter in T20I cricket. In 132 matches, he has smashed 3487 runs at an average of 32.28 and a strike rate of 140.26. He has scored the most tons in T20 internationals (4) and also has 27 half-centuries to his credit. The 35-year-old only needs 13 runs to become the first player to touch the 3500-run landmark in T20I cricket.
