The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 has already started and from Saturday onwards we have the Super 12s where four teams from the ongoing group stage will join the remaining eight qualified sides. One will be hoping for some great entertaining matches as the biggest T20 spectacle takes centerstage. Notably, the T20 World Cup started in 2007 and six editions have been held up till now. We have witnessed several top performances from players who went on to scoop the biggest prize as the tournament ended. On the same note, we present the Man of the Tournament awardees to date.
ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2007
The 2007 edition of the ICC T20 World Cup was won by MS Dhoni-led India, beating Pakistan in a thrilling contest in the finale. Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi won the Man of the Tournament award, claiming 12 wickets in total at 15.66. Afridi was the jointsecond highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He claimed one four-wicket haul. With the bat, Afridi scored 91 runs at 15.16, registering the best score of 46. He enjoyed terrific performances against Scotland, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
