Without a doubt, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been the most consistent team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years. In fact, they are the only side to have made it to the playoffs in every season that they have featured in the event. CSK began the IPL with a runners-up performance, going down to Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural edition in 2008. After faltering in the semi-finals in 2009, they came back with a bang to clinch back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011 under MS Dhoni’s astute and inspired leadership.
Continuing their great run, CSK made it to the final in 2012 and 2013 as well but lost on both occasions. In 2014, they could not go past the play-offs while a year later they lost their third final in four years. After being banned for a couple of years, Chennai then made a fairytale comeback by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 final. Last year, they added to their growing list of losing finals.
