With Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the Indian selectors continuing to play dodge ball, that is not likely to change any time soon.
While the opinion about the treatment of Rishabh Pant has polarized people, what is not in doubt is the fact that the game between Dhoni and the Indian selectors has gone on for far too long. While there were reports that Dhoni could retire at the end of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England in July, none was in the offing. But if Dhoni is still in contention as a player, past reputation notwithstanding, he cannot afford to keep away from the game.
