LANCASHIRE Lightning captain Liam Livingstone starred with the ball as his side cruised to victory over Leicestershire Foxes to go top of the North Division in the t20 Blast.
The skipper took 4-17 from his four overs after he had won the toss and put the hosts in as the Foxes collapsed to 142 all out following a bright start with the bat at Grace Road.
Alex Davies then hit an unbeaten half-century as the visitors comfortably chased down their target with 3.2 overs to spare to seal an eight-wicket victory.
The win was Lightning’s fourth on the bounce following their opening defeat to Worcestershire Rapids, who they leapfrogged to the top of the North Division courtesy of their greater run rate.
Leicestershire’s defeat means they now have two wins from five games, with both of those coming away from Grace Road, leaving them sitting down in sixth.
But Foxes batsman Mark Cosgrove, who made 31 before losing his wicket to Matthew Parkinson, remains confident that, under Foxes head coach and TCP columnist Paul Nixon, they can turn their home form around and reach the knockout stage.
