Quarterbacks
Daniel Jones (17/25, 229 yards, two TDs, one INT, 106.9 QBR) got the start after telling the world he was not 100% healthy this week and would play from the pocket. He looked a lot like his old self. Jones completed passes to nine different receivers in this game. He was charged with a fumble on a missed exchange with Wayne Gallman which was clearly Gallman’s fault. So was Jones’ first INT in 178 attempts when Evan Engram let a perfect pass slip though his fingers for a turnover. Jones rushed nine times for 17 yards in the game with a long of 11.
Bottom Line: Jones seemed more comfortable this week, made good decisions, protected the ball well and made some impressive throws.
Running Backs
After averaging just 68.7 yards per game on the ground during their three-game losing streak, the Giants rushed for 125 yards on the day. Wayne Gallman (11 rushes, 65 yards) was not charged with the fumble in the first half but came close to losing a fumble late in the fourth quarter that could have cost the Giants dearly. Alfred Morris rushed five times for 12 yards and Dion Lewis rushed once for a seven-yard gain.
Bottom Line: When they run the ball well, they win. Plain and simple.
