We won eight, drew two and lost seven of those games leaving us in fifth position with 26 points at the cessation of play, although we await a decision on the sporting outcome of the league, which could affect final placings.

HOW WE STOOD The decision of Premier League Shareholders to curtail the 2019/20 Academy Games Programme in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic means our Under-18 Premier League campaign finished with 17 of our 22 matches played.

We won eight, drew two and lost seven of those games leaving us in fifth position with 26 points at the cessation of play, although we await a decision on the sporting outcome of the league, which could affect final placings.

Our last Under-18 Premier League match before the pandemic saw us notch up our biggest league victory of the season, winning 6-1 against Southampton at Hotspur Way on 29 February with goals from J’Neil Bennett, Yago Santiago, Kion Etete (2), Nile John and Chay Cooper.

FAREWELL JOHN

John McDermottrecently left his role as our Head of Academy Coaching and Player Development to take up the position of Assistant Technical Director at the Football Association.

He departed after 15 years with our Academy, where he oversaw the development of an incredible array of players, many who have gone on to establish themselves as leading names in domestic and international football, including Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Danny Rose, Ryan Mason and Andros Townsend.
