When it comes to acclimatising to Premier League football, Serge Aurier is on the case – and it doesn’t need much deducing as to who is giving him a helping hand.
Serge Aurier is grateful to his team-mates for helping him get clued up on the intricacies of how things work at Spurs.
The attacking right-back arrived at the club in a high-profile switch from Paris SaintGermain at the end of the summer transfer window and, at 24, has already garnered plenty of experience of top-level European football.
He’s adept at winning trophies, too. He secured two Ligue 1 titles, three French cups and three League Cups during his time on the other side of the Channel and, thanks to some assistance from the French connection in our squad, he hopes to be in a position to add to his medals haul with us in the very near future.
“I’m still finding my feet here, still getting into the rhythm of the team but I really couldn’t be happier,” smiled the Ivorian international, who moved to France at a young age and was a team-mate of Moussa Sissoko at previous club Toulouse in 2012. “It’s true that it wasn’t difficult for me to settle in because I knew some of the players before I arrived, so that helped with my integration and perhaps it was a little quicker than normal.
“Moussa Sissoko is someone who has helped me a lot since I’ve been here. I’d already played with him at Toulouse a few years ago, we were very close there and fate brought us together again here, so I was really happy when I arrived and he was here waiting.
