OFFLINE LISTENING AND LIBRARIES
All premium subscriptions to Apple Music and Tidal provide you access to a massive song catalog. No matter which service offers more content (Apple Music has 50 million songs, whilst Tidal customers have access to over 57 million), both allow you to build up a substantial music library.
SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PLANS
If you live in the United States, you’ll pay $9.99 per month for an individual Apple Music subscription. You then have access to all of Apple’s music and video content, new releases, and exclusives, and be able to stream and download content.
Individual subscriptions to Tidal are available at $9.99 a month, though costs may vary in other regions. Additionally, an individual subscription for $19.99 per month includes lossless “High Fidelity” sound quality and HD video.
Apple Music student subscriptions cost $4.99 per month and may only be obtained by logging in with the credentials provided by your school institution. Two student options are available from Tidal: $4.99 for the Premium subscription, and $9.99 for HiFi. To continue receiving these benefits, students must re-verify their eligibility at least once every 12 months.
