Whisk is a new name for a web design and development app with a long pedigree: it was previously known as HyperEdit. HyperEdit’s last release was version 1.6 in 2008 — Whisk is HyperEdit 2.0.
Whisk is an HTML and PHP editor with a very small footprint — under 60MB — and a live preview. It now uses the W3C Nu HTML checker (v.Nu) to validate HTML5, XHTML5, CSS and SVG code (HyperEdit only validated up to HTML4), and it boasts a more modern interface with Dark Mode support.
