SIMPLE STUNNER Nokia 7.2
Speed Philippines|March 2020
Nokia is trying to woo smartphone buyers one phone model at a time. Although they still have a lot of catching up to do, their strategy of releasing bang-for-the-buck devices seems to work. Case in point: the Nokia 7.2.

The IPS LCD isn’t much to get excited about in terms of visuals. It saves a lot of power, but that’s at the expense of having richer tones on your images, which an AMOLED screen provides. What we liked about the display is that it offers great visibility and is able to retain its brightness even under harsh lighting conditions.

In terms of performance, the Nokia 7.2 is near flawless. If you’re a first-timer to Android One like I am, here’s a fair warning: you might love it. The promise of having little to no bloatware is just so awesome. It’s great that Nokia seems to be focusing more on providing users the essentials rather than unnecessary, novelty features. You get to have more memory to use for important tasks, plus there’s minimal background activity, which saves on power.

The Zeiss triple-camera module at the back performs quite impressively. It’s able to render images with sharp details and moderately rich tones. However, it has the tendency to over process whites, giving them a bluish hue in certain lighting conditions. Video mode is not that good. While exposure and stability aren’t much of a problem, the video captured looks a little bit pasty/posterized, losing some details to bump up the vibrance.
