Inspired by a playlist of their favourite songs, David Sheth Moltz, a musician, and Kavi Ahuja an architect, strung together a captivating line of fragrances that has perfume aficionados swaying to its beat. All that they love in music, art, nature, and design are communicated aromatically for a vivid sensorial experience. Founded in the Big Apple, the niche perfume house spearheaded by this husband and wife duo is making waves and how. Brought to India exclusively by Scentido Niche Perfumery, each fragrance from the collection unveils an inviting narrative and invokes nostalgia. As the brand arrives in India for the first time, David Seth Moltz and Kavi Ahuja reveal the story behind its creation.
How did you become a perfumer?
I read everything I could about perfume, bought as many oils as I could, and practiced for many hours.
How do you choose each ingredient to create a perfume?
I use notes to build accords of plants, objects, and spaces and weave these together into a narrative.
What is your creative process? How do you begin creating a new perfume?
I have a running list of ideas and I am always experimenting. When the two align, and it’s the right addition to our line, we launch it. But I have many scents that may never see the light of day commercially.
How do you understand which fragrance notes go together?
Observation and concentration.
Does storytelling play a role in creating each fragrance?
