The spa industry is growing exponentially, and Dr Manish Sharma of Orion Spa has his finger on the pulse of it.
Some people let things remain as they are. Others want to lead from the front in bringing about the change they want. Dr Manish Sharma started out by working for other brands, but went on to make a mark as an entrepreneur when he founded Orion Spa. Not satisfied by just a spa, he has since expanded the brand into a spa academy and is also into herbal solutions. Here, he talks about his experience.
CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR LIFE BEFORE ORION SPA?
I studied at the All India Yoga & Nature Cure Council, New Delhi, and got a degree in naturopathy and yogic science. I was interested in the spa industry and that interest increased as I learnt more about it. I started my career with the Taj Groups of Hotels and Palaces in 2008. It was a roller-coaster ride at the beginning, but I made sure that my efforts and what I learnt took me to the next level. Throughout my career, I have been privileged to be associated with various prestigious hospitality and spa brands, and have learnt a lot about the various business aspects and culture of the business.
I always had a thirst for knowledge and the hunger to make it big. It made me work hard, learn from my experiences and pursue success. My experience with the hospitality industry and the leadership qualities I possess made me start Orion Spa.
HAVING BEEN INVOLVED IN MORE THAN 20 SPA PRE-OPENINGS, HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH ORION SPA?
