Head to Salt Escape, the ultimate relaxation destination, to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
When you think of unwinding, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Is it soaking your problems away at a spa or getting a scintillating massage to melt the tension? At times, all it takes to relax is a pinch or more of salt. That’s what I realised when I stepped into Salt Escape.
Tucked in the bylanes of South Mumbai, this quaint retreat doesn’t quite give away its secret through the exteriors. But the moment I walked in, I was drawn by its positive energy. With white-washed walls and sparkling interiors, I knew this experience would be different.
Salt Escape works on the concept of halotherapy, a scientific alternative to rejuvenate and calm the senses. After helping me understand the one-hour process and the general benefits of it, I was asked to slip into a pair of disposable booties and a hair cap— for sanitary purposes. And then the door to Narnia opened. Inside were three rooms that looked like something out of Spielberg movie.
Two out of the three rooms were panelled with large glass windows, which allowed me to take a peek inside. The first one was the children’s den, with brightly coloured toys and chairs breaking the monotony of the salty white. A few steps ahead was the room for adults, where red upholstered armchairs and footrests sat in a bed of salt.
