Silky smooth hair with no signs of frizz is something that every woman longs for. Being able to run your fingers through your hair without adding more frizz or finding knots that are difficult to detangle is not impossible this festive season. There are numerous solutions to setting your hair free of frizz, knots, and dryness, all of which make your hair feel unruly and unmanageable. Hair smoothening is a popular one. While there are a number of factors to consider before opting for a method, we break it down for you to understand how to go about it and which treatments will benefit you the most.
IDENTIFY THE HAIR TYPE
Understand the hair type to get the most out of your technique, since each treatment will work for only certain hair types. Also understand how to maintain its integrity. Make note if the hair is curly or wavy and only then will you be able to choose a treatment with necessary intensity to bring your hair to a manageable and frizz-free condition. Do note that natural smoothening treatments are better than chemical ones as they do not cause damage at all but rather further nourish your hair.
CAUSES OF UNMANAGEABLE HAIR
Is your client’s hair frizzing up due to high levels of humidity in the environment? Or, is it because the hair is curly and combing it is causing the frizz? Does the hair get entangled when it is left loose while travelling? Identifying which factors are causing the hair to become unmanageable is ideal to understand the most suitable treatment. The best bargain would be one that does the least damage and maintains the natural texture. It all depends on what level of smoothness your client requires. Serums play a big role in maintaining the smoothness of the hair. Ask your client to tie up her hair or cover it with a scarf while travelling.
