Australian model, presenter, influencer and H&F cover star Erin McNaught reveals how she juggles her exercise and diet regime with motherhood
Watching ErinMc Naughtwork a series of midriff-baring outfits for our H&F cover shoot, you’d never think she was a mother of two young children. There’s no hint of sleep deprivation under the eyes of the 36-year-old former Miss Australia and ex-Neighbours actress, and zero sign of a mum-tum for that matter. But you’d be wrong to put her slim figure and flat abs solely down to winning the genetic lottery. The social media influencer and Link Nutrition ambassador – who’s been living in the UK for six years with her husband, British rapper and singer, Example, and their two sons, three-year-old Evander and 10-month-old Ennio – is well known for posting videos of her high-octane workouts online, receiving both praise and criticism for working out throughout both pregnancies (and ‘snapping back’ to her pre-baby body just weeks after giving birth). But as we’re about to discover, no amount of trolling will stop this woman from doing what she feels is best for the health of her and her family.
Q Did your Australian upbringing have a big influence on your healthy lifestyle?
A ‘Absolutely. It has completely dictated where I’m at with my heath and fitness regime right now. Food wise, junk food wasn’t allowed in the house, and my mum cooked homemade meals every night. My parents are both really fit, and with two older brothers, I was a complete tomboy. We did lots of bushwalking and camping out under the stars, and my whole family started mountain bike racing when I was 11, travelling to different races every weekend – I was actually Australian champion, racing until I was 23 – so I’ve always had a really healthy respect for what the human body can do and what it’s actually meant for.’
