Born To Be A Dad Harry's Dream Comes True!

Why Fatherhood Is Set to Be His Happiest Role Yet

Born To Be A Dad Harry's Dream Comes True!

The larrikin; the playboy prince; the brave soldier; the loyal husband. Prince Harry has undergone quite the evolution throughout his 34 years while navigating life in the public eye as a high-profile member of the British royal family.

But the one constant during his ups and downs has always been his adoration of children, and his desire to one day be a dad himself.

“I’ve longed for kids since I was very, very young,” he said in a 2012 interview, not long after older brother Prince William (36) tied the knot with his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (37).

“I’m waiting to find the right person and someone who’s willing to take the job.”

From an early age, it was clear that Harry had inherited his mother’s empathetic touch and compassionate soul. While he struggled at times with the burden of expectation and all that goes with being a royal, his love of children never wavered − just like Diana, Princess of Wales.

“No matter how old I am, I will always have a kid inside me,” he told reporters in 2016 during a trip to Barbados.

“I’m obsessed with children. I don’t know if they like me but, you know, they’re great fun and you can never really say no to them. I don’t know if I can follow [mum’s] footsteps, but William and I always try to achieve what she achieved in the short space of time she did. Like mother, like son.

“I will always try to stick with children as long as I can as I associate with them more.”

In 2006, he founded his charity Sentebale to help vulnerable children in Lesotho, which he dedicated to Princess Diana.
