She sizzled on-screen as the blonde, glamorous and über-rich Krystle Carrington on Dynasty. But after the ’80s bonkbuster was consigned to the dusty archives of TV soap history, actress Linda Evans’ career seemed to fade like a pair of washed-out leopard print leg warmers.
It’s now been 32 years since Linda hung up Krystle’s gigantic, diamanté-encrusted shoulder pads for the last time, and fans the world over might be forgiven for assuming she’d long ago missed her chance for a comeback.
What they didn’t know was that the actress’ motto is “anything is possible” and at 78, she’s just proven it!
“I was nervous, of course, I was nervous! How could I not be nervous when I hadn’t done this for so long?” laughs Linda as she talks about her latest role in the movie Swan Song, which is due for release on Apple TV+ later this year.
“The last time I worked, I had my own hair and makeup team with me everywhere. Now, it was just Linda by herself and that was part of the excitement.”
After bowing out of Dynasty – one of the most-watched TV shows of all time – in 1989, Linda retreated to her sprawling rural estate in Washington State and made herself, for the most part, unavailable for future roles. Sinking into partial obscurity was a relief after the madness of global fame.
