Platinum Jubilee festivity fears - WHO WILL RAIN ON THE QUEEN'S PARADE?

It’s going to be one of the most important celebrations in British history. As of February 6, the Queen will have reigned for an incredible 70 years and festivities organised to mark her Platinum Jubilee later in the year have been carefully planned to pay a special tribute to Britain’s longest-serving monarch.

But while enthusiasm abounds for the events – details of which were announced last week – behind the scenes courtiers are worried that the jubilee could be a huge disappointment due to a number of concerning issues, including the Queen’s compromised health.

Platinum Jubilee events

JANUARY 10

The Platinum Pudding Competition was launched, asking the public to create a dish to dedicate to the Queen’s reign.

MAY 12 TO 15

More than 1000 performers and 500 horses will take part in a show at Windsor Castle, depicting British history from Elizabeth I to the current day.

JUNE 2

The Queen’s annual birthday parade, Trooping the Colour, will be held in London while throughout Britain 1500 beacons will be lit in honour of Elizabeth II.

JUNE 3 A Thanksgiving Service will take place at St Paul’s Cathedral.

JUNE 4 A live concert, Platinum Party at the Palace, will feature some of the biggest entertainers in the world, who have yet to be announced.
