The veteran singer is a hit once more
Here she comes again! It seems there’s nothing Dolly Parton can’t do and the country legend has proved it again by being awarded with not one, not two, but three Guinness World Records.
The Jolene singer has set two new records – one for the most decades spent on the US Hot Country Songs chart by a female (seven) and one for the most Number One hits on the US Hot Country Songs chart by a female (25).
On top of that, Dolly also beat her existing record for the most hits on the US Hot Country Songs chart by a female (109).
“This is the kind of stuff
that really makes you very humble and very grateful for everything that’s happened,” said Dolly when she was presented with her three certificates. “I had no idea that I would be in Guinness World Records this many times!”
The 75-year-old, who earned her 50th Grammy nomination in 2021, also sent ripples of excitement among her fans recently when it was announced she would be joining the seventh and final season of the Netfl ix comedy Grace and Frankie, which stars Jane Fonda, 84, and Lily Tomlin, 82.
Dolly’s appearance will be a reunion for the three stars, who all appeared together in the hit 1980 movie 9 to 5.
