Ruth Langsford has been on a fitness drive in recent years and during the first lockdown she really ramped things up.
The star has been open about how her weight has fluctuated in the past. Having been a size 12, the menopause saw the pounds creep up and, although her time on Strictly in 2017 meant she slimmed back down, she struggled to keep up with the level of exercise once she left the show.
In 2019 she said, ‘Eventually I went, “Ruth, just admit it, you’re now a size 14.” And I was fine with that. And now everything that is a 14 is tight.’
The host of This Morning has been sharing her new regime on social media. We find out how she’s been getting on…
In the kitchen
Ruth meal preps some of her breakfasts and lunches so that she can stick to healthy eating on the go. She’s even been making her own pesto, and she’s happy to share the recipe.
She said, ‘Toast some pine nuts… add them to some basil… trying NOT to spill them! Parmesan cheese… two cloves of garlic… olive oil… and blitz! And hey pesto!’

'THAT'S NOT MY BABY'
Lying in the hospital bed, my husband Michael had tears of happiness in his eyes as he showed me a photo on his phone. 'Here she is,' he said proudly. 'There must be a mistake.'It was August 2010 and I'd not long before had an emergency caesarean. I'd not had a chance to see Winnie when she arrived as she'd been whisked away for tests because she was nearly two months premature.
