Jean Tierney, 48, from Glasgow, was overwhelmed when she realised that she had scooped £1,701.
Strolling through Glasgow city centre, I stopped for the umpteenth time to gaze in the window of my favourite handbag shop.
I absolutely love handbags and the displays in this shop always caught my eye. In particular, there was a camel-coloured bag that had taken my fancy. ‘That’s next on my list’, I thought to myself.
The designer handbag came with a designer price tag, but there was no harm in looking and lusting… Little did I know that a couple of months later, in January this year, I’d find myself inside the very same shop, ready to buy that handbag!
And the reason I had an unexpected chunk of extra money at my disposal? In January I won the jackpot playing Woman’s Own Bingo!
Trying new games
I’d been feeling under the weather with a flu-like virus that was doing the rounds. I’d read my book for most of the day and flicked through the telly, but then I decided to play a few games on Woman’s Own Bingo.
