Best known for starring in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Downton Abbey, Lily James is unrecognisable in her latest role as Baywatch beauty Pamela Anderson.
Lily plays the Canadian-born actor in eight-part drama Pam & Tommy, which tells the story of her ill-fated marriage to Tommy Lee (Sebastian Stan).
It begins with the pair’s whirlwind romance in 1995, which saw them tie the knot four days after they started dating, then follows the fallout from their honeymoon sex tape being leaked and the legal dispute that followed.
To become Pamela, Lily did her research by reading the star’s books and looking at her interviews. She also spent four hours every day being transformed into the actor.
‘I’ve never worked so hard!’ says Lily, 32. ‘I’ve never done anything where I look so different. It was thrilling!’
Lily enjoyed being Pamela so much that she was sorry to have to come out of costume…
‘There was a bravery that came from being Pamela, so it was like being stripped of these superpowers,’ says Lily. ‘I hated it!’

'THAT'S NOT MY BABY'
Lying in the hospital bed, my husband Michael had tears of happiness in his eyes as he showed me a photo on his phone. 'Here she is,' he said proudly. 'This is our beautiful baby girl.'I stared at the photo and shook my head. 'No, that's not my baby,' I said. 'There must be a mistake.'It was August 2010 and I'd not long before had an emergency caesarean. I'd not had a chance to see Winnie when she arrived as she'd been whisked away for tests because she was nearly two months premature.
