SPIRAL CUSHION
YOU WILL NEED
- Ready-made cushion cover and pad
- Piping cord
- White sewing thread
- Hand-sewing needle
- Scissors and pins
1. Arrange the cord in a squiggle pattern onto the front of the cushion. Use pins to anchor the cord roughly in place, then hand-stitch.
2. Smooth the lines into gentle curves as you sew. Tuck each of the ends under a cord line to hide them.

- Cotton pillowcase
- Pins
- Dylon hand dye in Smoke Grey
- Washing-up bowl
- Rubber gloves
- 51cm square cushion pad
- Needle and thread
- Scissors
1. Wash the pillowcase and leave damp. Mix up the dye as per the instructions in a sink or bowl (beware, as some plastic may stain). Pin the side edges of the pillowcase, working up from the bottom at 12.5cm, 25cm, 37.5cm and 50cm. Lower the pillowcase up to the level of the top set of pins into the dye, submerging for 30 secs.
